ここではそのセットアップについて説明する．

1.　WordPress用のデータベースを用意する．

サーバーのMySQL上にWordPressが自由に使えるデータベースを構築する．ここではサーバーにデータベース管理ツールであるphpMyAdminが導入されていることを前提として話を進める．

1-1. phpMyAdminの管理画面に入る．ユーザー名とパスワードは適宜入力する．

1-2. 特権タブに移動する．

単に「データベースを新規作成」をしても良いが，他のシステムがデータベースを使う場合に備えて，それぞれのユーザーが異なるデータベースを使うように設定する．それができない場合(レンタルサーバーなど)は，「データベースを新規作成」しても良い．
